Jean-Christophe Cholet loves projects in big line-up, which he has been leading for twenty years with his ensemble Diagonal.
Creations are rich and varied but with a constant quality : cross-cultural artistry. He likes to blend contemporary harmonies with traditional tunes (Nights in Tunisia), a jazz trio with a classical choir (Hymne à la nuit). Other programmes have highlighted the heritage of popular music from here and abroad: Suite Alpestre, English Sounds, Slavonic Tone, until the repertoires devoted to French music : French Touch and Le Tombeau de Poulenc.
The last creation, ‘Back in Tunisia’, proposes to gather on stage the refinement of Arab music and singing with the burning ember of the rhythms of current jazz. A festive program, extremely colorful, full of energy, emotions and sharing !
